April 1, Flagship Pioneering and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a strategic partnership, leveraging generative AI and high-performance computing to accelerate innovation in drug discovery and the life sciences sector. Under the agreement, AWS will become Flagship Pioneering’s preferred cloud service provider, offering cloud service credit offsets, technical support, and AI resources for its portfolio of early-stage companies. The scientists and engineers team at Flagship Pioneering, including members of its “Pioneer Intelligent Program,” will also receive dedicated support to strengthen capabilities from company formation to scaling. ‌Flagship Pioneering‌ is a global leading life sciences innovation incubation platform founded in 2000. It has established and nurtured more than 100 science companies. According to its latest round of funding announced in July 2024, the company’s assets under management amount to $14 billion. Currently, the ‌Flagship Pioneering‌ ecosystem consists of more than 40 companies, including Generate Biomedicines and Moderna.
