Recently, I've been researching automation for cat toilets, but honestly, there are so many options that I was overwhelmed. Drum-type, scoop-type, and many different manufacturers. I found a ranking that thoroughly compares the top 12 popular automatic litter boxes, so I want to share some helpful insights.
To get straight to the point, the number one spot goes to PETKIT's "Pure Max2." It almost completely eliminates leftover waste, and you can automatically manage your cat's elimination records via the app. Cleaning is tool-free; the dome can be disassembled and washed with water. It operates at around 48dB, so it’s quiet enough for nighttime use. The price is about 53,890 yen, which is on the higher side, but it’s really convenient for households with multiple cats or people who are often away.
Second place is Neakasa's "M1." It also has high collection accuracy and a feature-rich app. The unit weighs over 10kg, providing stability. It’s quiet at 47.5dB, making it suitable for health-conscious users. It costs around 44,800 yen.
Third is CATLINK SCOOPER PRO. It has top-level accuracy in waste collection and operates at about 53dB, making it noticeably quieter. However, the unit weighs 11.7kg, which is quite heavy.
Looking at the rankings, the top automatic litter boxes share some common features. First, collection accuracy—most products achieve almost zero leftovers. Next, ease of cleaning—tool-free disassembly, removable domes, and standard water-washable parts. Also, health management features—being able to record and manage elimination data via an app is a recent trend.
However, there are some points to watch out for. Some models produce louder noise (over 60dB), so if you plan to use it at night, check the noise level. Also, the weight of the unit is surprisingly important—some models weigh nearly 16kg, while others are lightweight at around 7.5kg. If placement flexibility and portability are priorities, look for a lighter model.
While browsing the automatic litter box rankings, I noticed the price range varies widely—from around 30,000 to over 60,000 yen. Even budget models have high collection accuracy, but differences come down to app features and whether they have full disposal functions. If health monitoring is a priority, higher-end models are the way to go. If you just need simple operation, mid-range models are a smart choice.
Personally, I prioritize zero leftover waste above all. Next is ease of cleaning. For those who want to monitor their cat’s health regularly, app connectivity is also important. Using this ranking as a reference, choosing an automatic litter box that fits your household’s needs is the best approach. For multiple cats, a high-functionality model makes sense; for single-cat households, a mid-range model should suffice.
