just realized how hard it is to picture 4 inches without actually seeing it lol. like everyone asks how big is 4 inches compared to an object but numbers don't really mean anything until you hold something up, right?

so here's the thing - 4 inches is basically the width of your palm or a credit card but slightly longer. it's literally everywhere around you. your phone's probably around that width, a bar of soap, even a tv remote fits in that range. way shorter than a dollar bill though - that's like 6 inches, so 4 inches is just over half.

the weird part? 4 inches sounds bigger when you hear it than when you actually see it. your brain's like 'okay that's substantial' but then you measure it and you're like 'oh that's actually pretty small' lol. on a ruler it's just a quarter of the way across.

i think people ask about this so much because online shopping is confusing without real references. you see '4 inch screen' or '4 inch tool' and have no idea if that's big or tiny. but once you compare it to stuff you already know - your hand, your phone, whatever - it clicks instantly. way easier than trying to do math with centimeters in your head.
