Shanghai Metal Market: Shanghai Nickel Rises, Trading Weakens

Today, Lunni nickel on the Shanghai market is fluctuating at high levels. As the futures market has rebounded, the spot-linked prices have clearly been cut; toward the end of the month, merchants are selling more to convert inventory into cash. Many are actively reducing prices to move goods, but overall trading has been rather dull. Downstream buyers are still purchasing as needed, staying cautious. Since available supply is fairly ample, many people are not in a hurry to place orders and are mostly watching from the sidelines. Today, Jinchuan’s producers, following the market trend, have raised their ex-factory prices by 1,000 yuan/ton compared with the day before. (SHMET)
