Starting April 1, the Daxing’anling Forest Area in Inner Mongolia officially enters a seven-month fire prevention period. Faced with the severe situation of rapidly rising temperatures, frequent windy weather, and high fire risk levels, the Daxing’anling Fire and Rescue Mobile Contingent, together with the Inner Mongolia Forest Industry Group, has made early deployments. It has fully launched the 2026 “Seven-Link Solid Protection, Peaceful Northern Frontier” fire prevention special campaign, working to firmly build an ecological security barrier for the Northern Frontier. Currently, as temperatures continue to rise, the Daxing’anling Forest Area is dry and windy, and combined with spring farming activities and Qingming Festival memorial observances, the difficulty of controlling outdoor fire sources has significantly increased. According to monitoring, the load of combustible materials in the forest area has already far exceeded safety standards. Once a fire occurs, it is highly likely to develop into high-intensity, rapidly spreading crown fires, making firefighting and response extremely challenging. (CCTV News)
