To all Tongyi Lab colleagues:

The company has decided to approve Lin Junyang’s resignation. Thank you, Lin Junyang, for your contributions in your role. Jingren will continue to lead Tongyi Lab in advancing the subsequent work. Meanwhile, the company will establish a foundational model support group, coordinated jointly by me, Jingren, and Fan Yu, to support the development of foundational models with resources from the group.

If technological development does not move forward, it goes backward. Developing large foundational models is a key strategic move for our future. While we continue to adhere to the open-source model strategy, we will steadily increase our R&D investment in the field of artificial intelligence and intensify our efforts to attract outstanding talent. Let’s keep pushing together.

Eddie Wu
