Odaily Planet Daily News: A working group dispatched by the Ministry of Public Security successfully escorted Li Xiong, a core member of Chen Zhi’s criminal syndicate, from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, back to China. This is another major achievement of law-enforcement cooperation between China and Cambodia. According to the investigation, Li Xiong previously served as the chairman of Huishang Group, which is affiliated with the Taizi Group, and is suspected of multiple crimes, including running a casino, fraud, illegal business operations, and concealing or disguising proceeds from crime. At present, Li Xiong has been subject to compulsory measures according to law, and the relevant case is under further investigation. A spokesperson from the Ministry of Public Security said that several core members of Chen Zhi’s criminal syndicate have been taken into custody one after another, and public security authorities will continue to increase their efforts to firmly track down and bring fugitives to justice.
