Tulare Western High School student Lauren Starr was awarded a $50,000 scholarship from Southern California Edison to pursue a college education in STEM. Starr plans to attend Loyola Marymount University to study math and join the women’s water polo team, with aspirations of becoming a math teacher. The Edison Scholars program, which has awarded over $22 million in scholarships since 2006, recognizes high school seniors in SCE’s service area who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and a passion for STEM.
