Spring break and the Qingming Festival holiday boost the travel market, with hotel bookings increasing significantly year over year.

Guosen Securities believes that the spring break connecting with the Qingming holiday is heating up the tourism market. With the Qingming holiday “mini peak holiday” approaching, the tourism market is booming. According to Feizhu data, the number of scenic spot tickets and hotel bookings year over year has surged significantly. Flower viewing and outings in spring are especially hot themes. Traditional destinations and long-distance trips are favored, with booking growth rates for lesser-known destinations exceeding 100%. In addition, local leisure and entertainment spending on outbound trips has also increased markedly. Moreover, more and more provinces have started exploring spring and autumn holiday arrangements, which is expected to further release family and parent-child travel demand.

CITIC Securities believes that the Qingming holiday is coming, and combined with the impact of the spring break, it is expected to set new highs again in travel data. This year’s Government Work Report for the first time proposed “supporting eligible localities in promoting spring and autumn holidays for primary and middle school students.” At present, places including Jiangsu and Sichuan have already released 2026 spring break arrangements for primary and middle school students. Some of the holiday periods will connect with the Qingming holiday, forming a longer stretch of mini holidays. With expectations for an increase in total holiday days, travel enthusiasm is clearly rising.

Orient Securities believes that, with the rollout of promoting spring and autumn holidays, it can not only encourage parent-child customers to take medium- to long-distance trips, creating new integrated scenarios of “education + culture and tourism.” It is also more conducive to smoothing peak and off-peak periods, promoting off-season vacationing, recreating golden-week style demand through combinations/extended breaks, and activating the consumption potential of spring and autumn holidays. Meanwhile, the Shenwan Services Index has undergone a major adjustment since mid-January. With Qingming and May Day approaching, there may be a Qingming mini-holiday market opportunity.
