People’s Finance & News, March 31—On March 31, the “Changying-8” large cargo-and-delivery drone, fully independently developed by Beijing Beifang Changying UAV Technology Co., Ltd., which is controlled by the North Industries Group’s Beifang Company, successfully completed its first flight at Zhengzhou Shangjie Airport. It has become the largest freight drone to have flown worldwide to date. The drone’s maximum payload is 3.5 tons, its takeoff and landing distance is less than 500 meters, its maximum range exceeds 3,000 kilometers, and it features a fully enclosed cargo hold of 18 cubic meters. In an interview, the chief engineer of the “Changying-8” large cargo-and-delivery drone, Geng Jianzhong, said that all components of the drone have been localized, and Chinese drones have begun to lead the development of unmanned equipment around the world.
