According to National Bureau of Statistics data, in January–February, profit performance in major industries is as follows: profits in the computer, communications, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry increased 2.0 times year over year; the nonferrous metals smelting and rolling processing industry increased 1.5 times; the chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry increased 35.9%; the nonmetal mineral products industry increased 16.2%; the textile industry increased 12.6%; the agricultural and sideline food processing industry increased 8.0%; the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased 6.2%; the coal mining and washing industry increased 4.5%; the specialized equipment manufacturing industry increased 4.3%; the general equipment manufacturing industry increased 3.6%; the electric power, heat production and supply industry increased 3.4%; the petroleum, coal, and other fuel processing industry turned from loss to profit; profits in the petroleum and natural gas extraction industry decreased 16.8%; the automobile manufacturing industry decreased 30.2%; and the ferrous metals smelting and rolling processing industry increased its losses.
