Hey, sure you see all the time on social media or in crypto numbers like 1K, 1M, 1B and you're never 100% sure what each one means. Well, it's simpler than it looks.

Let's start with the basics. When you see 1K, that's simply one thousand. The K comes from "kilo" and period. So 10K is 10 thousand, 100K is 100 thousand. Nothing complicated. If someone tells you "that video has 500K views," you know it's 500 thousand views.

Now, what does 1K mean in larger contexts? Imagine we're talking about money or market cap. You need to understand that after thousands come millions. 1M = 1 million, which is a thousand times 1K. So 5M is 5 million, 10M is 10 million. Pretty straightforward.

And then there's the billion, which in this context means a thousand million (1B). This is where numbers get really big. 1B = 1,000,000,000. When you see a crypto with a market cap of 2B, we're talking about 2 billion dollars. That's serious.

To make it clear: 1K is a thousand, 1M is a million, 1B is a billion. That's all you need to know to understand any large number you see.

If you work on YouTube, in crypto, or anything online, these terms come up all the time. Understanding them helps you read numbers better, see which projects are growing, what the actual volume is. And honestly, there are some interesting tokens circulating right now if you want to check the market on Gate.
