Odaily Planet Daily News: CZ posted on the X platform that cryptocurrencies only need to upgrade to quantum-resistant (post-quantum) algorithms to address the impact of quantum computing, without panic. In terms of practical implementation, organizing upgrades in a decentralized environment is difficult; choosing the algorithms may spark debate and lead to forks. Some partially or fully discontinued projects may not carry out upgrades, which helps clean up such projects. In the short term, new code may introduce vulnerabilities or security issues; users who self-custody their cryptocurrencies need to move their assets to new wallets. Regarding the Bitcoin held by Satoshi, if the assets are moved, it means they are still active; if they are not moved within a certain timeframe, the related addresses should be locked or destroyed to prevent them from being compromised by hackers. Fundamentally, encryption is easier than decryption, and stronger computing power has positive meaning; cryptocurrencies will continue to exist even after the quantum era.
