Abstract generation in progress

People’s Finance News, March 31—The reporter learned from the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that recently, the superheavy nuclei research team from the Institute and the National Key Laboratory for Heavy Ion Science and Technology, together with collaborators, used the accelerator facility of the Lanzhou Heavy Ion Accelerator National Laboratory to successfully synthesize, for the first time, the new nuclide francium-235 and its alpha-decay daughter nucleus americium-231. The study provides important experimental evidence for understanding the nuclear structure and decay properties of nuclei in the superheavy region, and further expands the knowledge map of nuclides. The related results were published in Physics Letters B. Synthesizing and studying new nuclides is a cutting-edge hotspot in nuclear physics, and is of great significance for exploring the limits of existence of atomic nuclei, testing nuclear mass models, and revealing new decay modes.
