Back when I was in school, I remember one time I accidentally stepped on an upperclassman's foot. I was about to say, "Sorry, I apologize to you," but I accidentally blurted out, "Sorry, you apologize to me." The upperclassman looked at me confused and said, "Are you sure I'm the one apologizing to you?" I didn't hear clearly and just responded with a hmm. Then he apologized to me, saying, "Sorry, classmate, I didn't mean to let you step on my foot." And that was the end of it... I feel like I missed something.
