The average price of gasoline in the United States surpasses $4 per gallon, reaching a nearly 4-year high.

The American Automobile Association’s data released on March 31 shows that the average retail price of regular gasoline across the U.S. rose to $4.02 per gallon, up more than $1 from February 28. After oil prices fell in mid-August 2022, they have not broken $4 again. At present, gasoline prices in some states have already exceeded $5, and the average price of diesel is approaching $5.45 per gallon. Shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has been disrupted, and oil prices are expected to keep climbing. 65% of Americans believe the U.S. economy will fall into a recession within the next 12 months.
