China Energy News, March 28 (Reporter: Yi Yuntong) Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Datang Power”) released its 2025 annual report. Full-year revenue was RMB 121.2555 billion, down 1.8% year over year; attributable net profit was RMB 7.386 billion, up 63.91% year over year, exceeding market expectations. Previously, analysts generally expected profits of around RMB 6.2 billion.

Datang Power stated that power and heat revenue together accounted for 93.22% of the company’s total operating revenues from its principal business. Of this, power sales revenue was RMB 105.091 billion, down approximately 2.33% from the same period last year; heat sales revenue was RMB 6.579 billion, up approximately 4.67% year over year. In 2025, power sales revenue decreased by approximately RMB 2.503 billion year over year, mainly due to the year-over-year decline in on-grid electricity tariffs.

In 2025, Datang Power’s cumulative generation reached 288.955 billion kWh, up approximately 1.33% year over year; cumulative on-grid electricity reached 273.1092 billion kWh, up approximately 1.41% year over year. Installed capacity in operation was 86.192081 million kW. Of this, coal-fired power units were 49.134 million kW, accounting for about 57.01%; coal-fired gas turbines were 9.47938 million kW, representing about 11.00%. The share of the coal-fired power business remains the major component.

From the cost side, in 2025 power fuel costs accounted for 54.04% of the costs of the company’s principal business. Total power fuel expenses were RMB 52.870 billion, down RMB 9.563 billion year over year. During the year, Datang Power purchased a total of 119.7749 million tons of coal. The benchmark unit price of standard coal for coal-fired units upon entering the furnace was RMB 742.4 per ton (excluding tax), down RMB 128.94 per ton year over year, a decline of 14.80%, laying a solid foundation for operational efficiency and value creation.

Operating performance hits new highs again, and the pace of low-carbon transformation is also accelerating. The annual report shows that Datang Power’s share of clean energy continues to rise. In 2025, it added 5.120854 million kW of clean energy capacity, bringing total clean energy installed capacity to 37.058081 million kW, about 42.99% of total installed capacity, an increase of 2.62 percentage points from the previous year. Combined wind and solar installed capacity has already reached 18.373971 million kW.
