US media: Nationwide protests against the Trump administration erupt across the United States, expected to draw more than 9 million attendees—possibly the “largest protests in U.S. history”

According to US media including the Associated Press, on March 28 local time, large-scale protest rallies opposing the Trump administration broke out across the United States. Organizers said that in all 50 states, more than 3,100 protest events are planned, with more than 9 million expected to take part; this could be the largest protest gathering in U.S. history.

According to reports, the organizers of the “No kings” protest event said that the first two “No kings” rallies drew more than 5 million and 7 million participants in June and October last year, respectively. More than 9 million people are expected to take part in the protest events on March 28. Across all 50 states, more than 3,100 protest events have been registered, an increase of 500 compared with October last year.

On March 28 local time, people hold a protest rally against the Trump administration in Georgia, with demonstrators holding placards that read “America First is a lie,” “Food prices are rising, and gas prices are rising,” and more.

A representative for the organizers, Geely Potter, said that what has encouraged them is that, in the protests on the 28th, more than 50% took place in states and areas where voters generally lean toward the Republican Party or where approval ratings are fairly evenly split between both parties. “The data is impressive. This matters. This isn’t a partisan issue. This is actually the most patriotic thing you can do.” Geely Potter said.

NBC News said that protesters expressed their anger over issues such as Iran and immigration. Earlier this month, the network’s nationwide public opinion poll found that most registered US voters were dissatisfied with how the Trump administration is handling immigration, Iran, the economy, and inflation as well as issues related to the cost of living.
