ING: The US dollar strengthens again due to concerns over Middle East conflict

Deep Tide TechFlow message, March 30, according to Jintou data, driven by concerns in the market over an escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, the U.S. dollar strengthened again. Even though warnings from Japanese officials about intervening in the yen caused the yen to strengthen temporarily, the dollar’s decline was limited and lasted only a short time. Chris Turner of ING said, “Unless Iran releases clear de-escalation signals, it will be difficult to see the dollar give back this month’s gains in the short term.”
