Iranian Foreign Ministry: EU's new sanctions against Iran are illogical and immoral

On March 11 local time, in response to sanctions imposed by the European Union on Iran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said in a statement on social media that the EU’s move to impose new sanctions on Iran is illogical, immoral, and illegal. The statement said that the EU is trying to punish Iran for exercising its right of self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and for resisting the brutal, unlawful aggression by the United States and Israel; meanwhile, the EU provides support and makes conditions available for the actions by the U.S. and Israel. The statement also said that the EU’s stance amounts to active complicity in international wrongdoing and heinous atrocities. (CCTV News)
