Pro-Government Z-Channels Lose More Than 40% Of Their Views In Russia CCD
(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council stated this on Facebook.
“Attempts by the Russian authorities to ‘cleanse’ the information space through blockings have backfired on the most Kremlin-loyal category of propagandists – pro-government Z-channels,” the statement said.

Media reports indicate that amid the blockings in Russia, Z-channels have lost about 41% of their views. In some pro-Kremlin media outlets, the audience has decreased by more than half.
According to the CCD, this only demonstrates the absurdity of censorship tools in Russia: “Initially, the blockings were intended to suppress dissent, but now the system can no longer distinguish between ‘its own’ and ‘others’ and is sweeping everyone indiscriminately. It seems that logic is secondary here – the main goal is maximum control, and in building it, the Russian authorities do not spare even their own propaganda ecosystem.”
Currently, a general trend toward narrowing the information environment is being observed in Russia. This trend is also confirmed by prolonged mobile internet outages and testing of so-called “whitelists” of websites. The fewer platforms, services, and channels available to users, the easier it is to control information flows, the CCD explained.
As Ukrinform reported, Russians are being warned about prolonged disruptions to mobile internet services, and “whitelists” of websites accessible during outages are being introduced.
