China News Service, Beijing, March 20 (Reporter Chen Hang) - The Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center (National-Local Co-Built Embodied Intelligent Robot Innovation Center) (hereinafter referred to as Beijing Humanoid) held the “Opening Ceremony and Delivery Ceremony of the Humanoid Robot Half Marathon Training Camp” on the 19th. Beijing Humanoid delivered 15 units of the “Embodied Tian Gong 3.0” and “Embodied Tian Gong Ultra” general-purpose robot bodies to several universities including Peking University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beihang University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), Huazhong University of Science and Technology, as well as secondary development partners such as NIO and China Shipbuilding Group, and provided comprehensive technical support for the general embodied intelligent platform “Wisdom Opens Things.”

Li Yechuan, Director of the Intelligent Manufacturing and Equipment Industry Department of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, stated that currently, embodied intelligence, as a key future industry cultivated in Beijing, is entering a critical stage of technological breakthroughs and scene implementation. In the next step, Beijing will continue to guide Beijing Humanoid to hold the “Tian Gong Opens Things” university robot innovation application competition, relying on “one conference and one competition,” providing hundreds of Tian Gong open-source platforms to universities across the country, achieving breakthroughs in various Tian Gong skills and expanding application scenarios.

Tang Jian, CTO of Beijing Humanoid, stated that the humanoid robot marathon competition is not only a contest of speed but also an ultimate test of humanoid robots in terms of stability, reliability, and consistency. The launch of this training camp and the delivery of equipment will allow university research forces and industrial development partners to share core technological achievements, using the competition as a link to promote the refinement and validation of technological innovation in practical scene applications, continually breaking the technological limits of embodied intelligence in both body and brain.

According to reports, the core equipment delivered this time includes 6 full-sized humanoid robots “Embodied Tian Gong 3.0” and 9 “Embodied Tian Gong Ultra.” This batch of robots, which possesses full autonomous operation capabilities and open development attributes, will serve as the core training equipment for the half marathon training camp, forming a soft and hardware collaborative support with the “Wisdom Opens Things” general embodied intelligent platform, providing all-dimensional technical support from hardware practice to platform development for all participating teams. It also becomes an important physical carrier for Beijing Humanoid to open core technological achievements to industry-academia-research partners and jointly build an embodied intelligent open-source ecosystem.

At the ceremony site, several technicians from Beijing Humanoid launched the first phase of training courses, focusing on core content such as robot motion control, autonomous navigation, and embodied intelligent platform operation, providing comprehensive technical guidance for the participating teams.

It is reported that the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon and Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon will be held on April 19, adopting a “human-robot co-running” mode, where human participants and humanoid robots will start simultaneously on the same track but will be separated by bicycle barriers or green belts. Among them, the humanoid robot half marathon will have autonomous navigation and remote control groups, competing in the same venue using a mixed timing method. (End)
