According to a report by Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency on the 24th, the Iranian military launched a missile strike in the morning against a U.S. military base at Erbil International Airport in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan) and against “separatist strongholds” supported by Israel. The report cited an announcement from the Iranian military stating that the targeted area is one of the important logistical support and operational command centers for the U.S. military, equipped with various military equipment, and is also a “separatist stronghold” that undermines the security of Iran’s western and northwestern borders. The announcement did not mention the casualties or specific damages caused by the strike. On the same day, the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq issued a statement saying that a military base of the Kurdish Peshmerga organization in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, was hit by 6 Iranian missiles, resulting in 6 deaths and 30 injuries.
