Swarms Launches OpenAI-Compatible Completions Endpoint, Supporting Over 1000 Models and Full Agent Execution
On March 30, the AI agent protocol Swarms announced via Twitter that its API has introduced a new OpenAI-compatible Completions endpoint. This endpoint can be directly mapped to /v1/agent/completions, allowing each request to be executed as a full Agent. Key features of the endpoint include: complete drop-in compatibility with existing OpenAI SDKs; a unified entry point with built-in routing, token tracking, billing, and logging functionalities; and support for over 1000 models including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini. Swarms stated that users only need to update their Base URL and API Key to complete the migration, with all Swarms Agent functionalities immediately available.
