Iran claims the U.S. Navy has "fled" the waters around Iran, warning that the U.S. may become embroiled in a long-term attrition war

The deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, Fadavi, stated that there are currently no American ships within the 700-kilometer maritime area surrounding Iran. He claimed that the U.S. Navy has “fled” the region because the U.S. is well aware that Iran has developed a special operational plan specifically aimed at sinking its aircraft carriers. Fadavi also stated that the Iranian armed forces shot down an American F-15 fighter jet south of Tehran. Additionally, Fadavi warned that the U.S. must consider the possibility of being caught in a long-term war of attrition, which would lead to a complete collapse of the U.S. and even the global economy.
