Gaode launches the first city-level "Flying Street View" to help businesses attract customers with AI assistance
Sina Technology News, March 27 afternoon: With official support from the Macao Special Administrative Region Government Tourism Office, and hosted by Amap and Macao Pass, with event support from Sands China, the “Fireworks City Launch Event · Macao Station” was held in Macao. At the event site, Amap, together with Macao Pass, rolled out the “Authentic Macao Flavor” street-scanning ranking list and the “Fireworks Macao Support Program,” and released the world’s first city-level “Flying Street View.” The initiative aims to effectively help Macao merchants improve customer acquisition and operational capabilities, and drive business growth and digital upgrading through a series of measures, including providing AI digital storefronts, intelligent business operation tools, traffic support during peak travel seasons, and boosting by influencers.
Data show that since the street-scanning ranking launched in September 2025, Amap has delivered 380 million customer visits to 11 cities in the Greater Bay Area through cumulative efforts across food, scenic spots, and hotels. During the 2026 Spring Festival holiday, Macao received an average of 114,000 mainland tourist visits per day, with Zhuhai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen accounting for the highest proportions.
To help merchants better capture the passenger flow brought by the Greater Bay Area’s integration, Amap, together with Macao Pass, launched the “Fireworks Macao Support Program.” It focuses on well-known Macao brands, time-honored old brands, and quality small shops, and supports the development of Macao’s offline businesses through four major initiatives: first, building “AI digital storefronts.” Relying on Amap’s advanced Flying Street View technology and AI service capabilities, it helps merchants establish digital storefronts to improve efficiency and increase revenue; second, providing intelligent business operation tools, along with supporting professional offline training, to lower the operating threshold for small and medium-sized merchants and enhance their online operation capabilities; third, investing millions in red packets and tens of millions in traffic to help merchants convert traffic advantages into order growth during peak travel seasons; fourth, connecting with the platform’s “True Explorer” influencer network. By leveraging high-quality on-site exploration content to tap into public-domain traffic, it helps merchants turn brand influence into incremental business.
At present, Amap’s street-scanning ranking in Macao has covered 985 high-quality merchant locations, including 96 food outlets, attractions, and hotels that have been selected for the “Top Honors List.” The “Authentic Macao Flavor” ranking list launched this time includes 90 merchants in total, covering six categories such as popular teahouses, distinctive desserts, and hot-pot-and-grill-style food stalls. It strictly follows a real “vote with your feet” mechanism—generated based on real navigation and on-site visit data—eliminating interference from fake order activity. Merchants only need to focus on quality and service to naturally gain more attention.
As the core implementation of the “AI digital storefront” initiative under the “Fireworks Macao Support Program,” Amap has rolled out the world’s first city-level “Flying Street View” in Macao. Visitors can not only take a 360° bird’s-eye view of landmarks such as the Ruins of St. Paul’s, but also preview the real environments of shops on streets and alleys in an immersive way—so that high-quality shops can be presented more comprehensively.
