Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao Attends the WTO Investment Facilitation Agreement Ministerial Meeting and Delivers a Speech
On March 25, the ministerial meeting of the World Trade Organization’s Agreement on Trade Facilitation was held in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao attended and delivered a speech. WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as well as ministers or high-ranking officials from member countries such as South Korea, Chile, Gambia, and Cambodia, spoke. Wang Wentao stated that in the current context of rising unilateralism and protectionism, as well as challenges and uncertainties facing the global economy and investment, WTO members need to take proactive actions to jointly maintain the central position of multilateral trade system in the formulation of international rules, develop multilateral investment rules that adapt to the new situation, promote the recovery of global cross-border investment, and demonstrate the authority and effectiveness of the WTO.
