On March 29, the Chinese Embassy in South Korea issued a statement reminding Chinese citizens in South Korea to be cautious when using drones:

South Korea has strict controls on unmanned aerial vehicles (i.e., “drones”), with clear requirements for flight altitude, controlled airspace, and more. Depending on the specifications and purposes of the drones, specific regulations for operators are outlined, with violators facing imprisonment, detention, or hefty fines. In recent years, there have been multiple cases of Chinese citizens suspected of violating drone regulations, with those involved subjected to long investigations, prohibited from leaving the country, and even prosecuted.

The Chinese Embassy in South Korea once again reminds Chinese citizens in South Korea and those planning to visit to enhance their risk awareness, comply with local laws and regulations, and refrain from using drones whenever possible. If there is a need to use one, please make sure to understand South Korea’s drone usage regulations in advance, avoid flying in no-fly zones, and pay attention to warning signs such as “No Drone Use” and “No Photography,” to prevent legal risks arising from negligence or a sense of complacency.

For relevant usage regulations, you can refer to the official South Korean websites:
