The total number of registered voluntary organ donors nationwide has exceeded 7.33 million.

From March 28 to 29, the “Life · Dawn — 2026 National Human Organ Donation Commemoration and Outreach & Awareness Campaign” was held in Jinan, Shandong. As of now, across the country, the number of people registered as voluntary organ donors has exceeded 7.33 million. After citizens pass away, more than 65,000 cases of organ donation have been carried out, more than 200,000 organs have been donated, more than 120,000 corneas have been donated, and more than 69,000 bodies have been donated. These efforts have saved the lives of more than 200,000 patients with organ failure and brought light to more than 100,000 people. In the country, more than 380 commemoration memorial sites for organ donors have already been built. Around the Qingming Festival each year, local Red Cross societies hold commemoration activities in a variety of forms to express gratitude and pay tribute to the donors’ great acts of kindness.
