U.S. lawmakers oppose sending ground troops to Iran

On March 25 local time, U.S. Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace posted on social media that she does not support sending ground troops to Iran. Mace stated that the reasons the U.S. government has been selling to the public for initiating a war with Iran are inconsistent with the military objectives she heard that day in the House Armed Services Committee, and this discrepancy is concerning. She noted that the longer the war continues, the faster support from the U.S. Congress and the American public will diminish. She also criticized the U.S. government for decades of sending troops to the Middle East to participate in endless conflicts without ever formulating a clear withdrawal strategy, calling it all just for the political interests of politicians.
