Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Administration and Guangzhou Municipal Market Supervision Administration Hold a Platform Enterprise Symposium
People’s Finance and Information, March 29—Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, together with the Guangzhou Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, organized and held a symposium with platform companies. The meeting focused on issues such as regulating fair competition and rational competition in the platform economy, conducted exchanges, provided administrative guidance to platform companies, and jointly studied and proposed measures to implement and carry them out.
The meeting pointed out that, relying on the advantages of traditional industries, Guangdong Province and Guangzhou have, among the major platforms, many operators and large operating volumes within platforms, placing them at a leading position nationwide. Platform rules are crucial for the operation and development of small and micro businesses. The meeting encouraged all platforms to take practical and effective measures, strengthen compliance building, and improve compliance levels. Focusing on innovative development, standardized development, and win-win development, the meeting called for sustained efforts from areas including regulating competitive behavior, respecting merchants’ right to operate independently, implementing quality-tiered management and control, protecting the rights and interests of small and micro merchants, empowering the incubation of high-quality brands, and protecting consumers’ lawful rights and interests. The goal is to jointly resist “involution-style” competition and promote high-quality development of the industry, using good-quality market participants to drive out inferior ones.
