Many things tend to self-correct, for example:


- If the trend continues, oil prices will rise and stock prices will fall;
- Rising oil prices and falling stock prices increase the likelihood of a ceasefire;
If oil prices really hit 150 and the S&P 500 hits a circuit breaker, then tomorrow Trump will see the market within 15 minutes and announce a troop withdrawal. Conversely, if stock prices haven't crashed and oil prices haven't skyrocketed, Trump will try to apply more pressure.
Other leaders/nations/participants often follow the same logic: they expect certain actions from others to lead to specific outcomes. Once reality approaches that expectation, they will stop pushing further.
