Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Oliver Blanco, who is responsible for North American and European affairs, announced on social media on the 28th that the Venezuelan government has restored its embassy in the United States. Blanco wrote in the post: “Accompanied by the head of the Venezuelan diplomatic mission in the U.S., Charge d’Affaires Felix Plasencia, we have restored the Venezuelan government’s embassy in the U.S. according to the instructions of Acting President Delcy Rodriguez, and it will undergo renovations to serve all Venezuelans.” Due to the ongoing interference by the United States in Venezuela’s internal affairs, the Venezuelan government severed diplomatic relations with the U.S. in January 2019, and all U.S. diplomatic personnel withdrew from the Venezuelan embassy in March of that year. In August of the same year, the U.S. State Department established a Venezuelan affairs representative office in Bogotá, Colombia’s capital. On January 3 of this year, U.S. military forces launched a large-scale military attack against Venezuela, forcibly taking control of President Maduro and his wife and bringing them to the United States. On January 31, the U.S. diplomatic delegation arrived in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, and both sides resumed diplomatic contacts. (Xinhua News Agency)
