At the Beijing International Youth Innovation and Development Forum during the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Meeting held yesterday (the 28th), the 2025 Zhongguancun U30 was released, and 30 pioneering young entrepreneurs with an average age of 29 were featured on the list. Recruitment and selection for the 2026 edition was launched simultaneously.
Among the 30 selected pioneering young entrepreneurs, the youngest is only 21 years old. Speaking about the 30 launchers, Yu Hao, the representative of the Zhongguancun U30 founders and CEO of Legend Holdings, said that 97% of the selected companies focus on future industries and strategic emerging fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), humanoid robots, and life and health. They target domestic substitution, disruption of industries, and even entirely new tracks. These companies, with an average age of only 1.8 years, have created nearly 1,000 jobs, boosting employment and innovation momentum.
Song Yachen, founder and CEO of VAST, a technology company in this city, is one of the winners. His goal is to use AI, 3D foundation models, and various AIGC (generative artificial intelligence) technologies so that everyone can have the ability to create and bring their own ideas to life. A series of supporting policies and funding in Beijing help him make his dream come true. He gives an example: model training requires massive computing power, and computing power subsidies are like “fuel.” Talent policies covering everything from food and clothing to housing and transportation help companies attract and retain the “strongest minds.”
He confidently said that in just a little over half a year since the latest product went live, it has attracted about 6.5 million world professional content creators to use it, creating more than 100 million 3D models. Previously, the total number of 3D models created in human history was still fewer than 10 million.
The next round of recruitment and selection has already started. It will continue to focus on high-end science and technology industrial tracks, selecting young science-and-technology innovators under the age of 35 who have outstanding innovation ability, strong core technical strength, and the spirit to dare to try and to push forward.
The Zhongguancun U30 program has been held for 11 years, building a dynamic “rainforest ecosystem” for empowering youth in science and technology innovation with diverse value. To date, the program has discovered nearly 7,000 young science-and-technology innovation talents, selected 309 winners both domestic and abroad, and has fostered two listed companies and more than 90 specialized and innovative SMEs.
