Bauxite prices halved: The world's largest bauxite exporter is about to take action.
According to reports from multiple international media outlets in recent days, Guinea, the world’s largest bauxite producer, is holding discussions with mining companies over how to control market supply volumes in an effort to curb the momentum of falling raw-material prices. The reports say that, as a key input for producing alumina, the price of bauxite has nearly halved since the beginning of 2025. One of the main reasons for the sharp drop in prices is a surge in supply that far exceeds the market’s ability to absorb it. It is understood that Guinea accounts for about 70% of global bauxite supply, and its 2025 exports reached 183 million tons, up 25% year over year. (CCTV Finance)
