Members of the delegation, including Svetlana Zhurova, the First Deputy Chair of the State Duma’s International Affairs Committee, stated that the talks with the U.S. side went very well. According to a report by the Russian “Newspaper Network” on the 27th, this Russian delegation visited the U.S. at the invitation of Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, and the U.S. delegation consisted of five American lawmakers. The Russian State Duma delegation visiting the U.S. also consisted of five members. The report noted that the Biden administration had suspended U.S.-Russia dialogue, and this meeting between Russian and American lawmakers “is an attempt by both sides to resume dialogue.” Luna emphasized that as two nuclear powers, “peace” should take precedence in all matters between Russia and the U.S. (Xinhua News Agency)
