[Caixin] On March 25, the court in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil approved IP Bridge’s request and issued a temporary patent injunction against Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (hereinafter referred to as “Geely”), prohibiting Geely from engaging in commercial activities related to the patents in question in Brazil. Several models sold by Geely in Brazil will be directly affected.

Geely must prove within 10 days that it has complied with the injunction, or it will face a daily fine of approximately $4,000, with a maximum penalty of $115,000.

In response, Geely stated that it is actively assessing and properly addressing the preliminary injunction from the Brazilian court. Geely also stated that it will continue to advance global patent negotiations based on the principles of fairness, reasonableness, and non-discrimination, and that it has resolutely upheld its legal rights through relevant litigation.
