French Prime Minister emphasizes not participating in military action against Iran

On March 25, the French National Assembly held a debate on the situation in the Middle East. In his remarks, French Prime Minister Lequ… emphasized that France would not take part in any military action against Iran. Lequ… also warned that there is a risk that the situation in the Middle East could further escalate, and that if the conflict spills over, it could disrupt global energy transport. Earlier, French President Macron had said that, given that France is not a party to the conflict, it would not participate in any action aimed at “opening up” the Strait of Hormuz under the current circumstances, but that after the “situation becomes calmer,” France would be willing to join other countries in helping to build a convoy escort system.
