Trump warns Iran to "take seriously" on peace agreement issues
People’s Finance and Information, March 26—Reporter learned that on March 26, local time, U.S. President Trump warned Iran on his social media platform “Real Social,” urging it to “take the peace agreement with Washington seriously as soon as possible,” or it would face serious consequences. In a post on his social media platform early on the 26th, Trump wrote: “They’d better take it seriously as soon as possible, otherwise it’ll be too late—because once that kind of situation happens, ‘there’s no way back,’ and the consequences would be unimaginable!” He also described Iran’s negotiating representatives as “very different” and said the other side “is requesting” the U.S. to reach an agreement to end the conflict that has been ongoing for nearly four weeks. At the time Trump made the above remarks, there were conflicting accounts between the U.S. and Iran regarding the progress of the peace talks. The U.S. side said negotiations are underway around a peace plan, while Iran denied having any direct contact with Washington. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghtzi said Iran is considering the U.S.-proposed plan to end the conflict, but has no intention of holding talks with the United States, and said that conveying messages through intermediaries “does not mean negotiating with the United States.” (CCTV News)
