The office of a U.S. lawmaker plans to release a draft of stablecoin yield provisions next week, and the industry is preparing counter-proposals.
Odaily Planet Daily News reports that crypto reporter Eleanor Terrett has disclosed that U.S. Senator Thom Tillis’s office plans to publicly release legislative text related to stablecoin yield and reward mechanisms next week, and that it is still in ongoing communication with industry stakeholders.
The report said the move comes amid dissatisfaction among crypto industry participants such as Coinbase regarding the relevant provisions demonstrated earlier this week. Coinbase’s Global Head of Investment Research, David Duong, said the industry is preparing a coordinated set of counterproposals aimed at pushing for adjustments to the provisions in order to maintain a sustainable rewards mechanism while protecting users.
