On March 27, according to the Times of Israel, a court in Tel Aviv revealed on Thursday that an Israeli Air Force reservist is suspected of using confidential information to profit from trades on Polymarket regarding last year’s war between Israel and Iran. The defendant, a former Air Force major, was charged last month along with his accomplice with serious security offenses, bribery, and obstruction of justice. They are suspected of trading on the timing of the first airstrike in a 12-day war initiated by Israel in June 2025. Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the suspects or the specific details of the trades. The case was initially protected by a court injunction, but on Thursday evening, after requests from several Hebrew media outlets, part of the injunction was lifted, allowing details of the case to be made public, although the defendants’ names remain undisclosed. The two earned a total of $162,663 after successfully predicting the events last June, which they agreed to split. Last month, prosecutors filed charges against the two in the Tel Aviv District Court, seeking to detain them until the legal proceedings are concluded.
