Investment bank Wedbush: Foldable screen iPhone leads Apple (AAPL.US) into a year of hardware innovation, maintaining a "beat the market" rating
According to Zhitong Finance APP, investment bank Wedbush Securities stated before Apple’s (AAPL.US) annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC26) that 2026 is becoming a “significant” year for product launches.
The analysts noted, “Apple has been focused on introducing new products to capitalize on the growing market demand for hardware devices with AI capabilities. This includes the new product line launched earlier this month, which features stronger processing power and larger memory, aimed at preparing Cupertino for the upcoming AI era.”
The analysts pointed out, “We have noticed that, according to supply chain investigations, the company may be in the late stages of developing the foldable iPhone Fold. It is rumored that this model will be released later this year alongside the iPhone 18 in September, which will provide an additional catalyst for its hardware revenue. We also observed that the company continues to drive its innovation engine with more upcoming Mac products, with widespread market rumors suggesting a touchscreen MacBook will be launched to facilitate developers in improving application testing and functionality.”
The firm maintains an “Outperform” rating on Apple, with a target price of $350.
Recently, Apple has released the iPhone 17e, a new iPad Air, a new MacBook Air, a MacBook Pro, a new Studio Display monitor, a MacBook Neo, and the recent AirPods Max 2.
Considering the recent news surrounding Siri, Wedbush expects this year’s WWDC to be very noteworthy.
The analysts wrote, “Since the 2025 WWDC performed poorly after the release of ‘Liquid Glass’ and did not update AI dynamics, Apple is expected to delve deeply into AI advancements in June. After delaying this core release last year, Cupertino needs to deliver a successful AI strategy. We anticipate that Apple will discuss integration with Gemini, which is how Google powers its underlying foundation model, pertaining to Apple’s AI services, including a personalized Siri with better personal context and screen awareness capabilities.”
The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is scheduled to take place from June 8 to June 12, with the keynote address kicking off at 1 PM ET on June 8.
