Golden Finance reported on March 28 that, according to foreign media citing informed sources, the Trump administration is indicating to allies that despite deploying thousands of soldiers to the Middle East, there are currently no immediate plans for a ground invasion of Iran. The informed sources warned that Trump could change his mind or launch an attack at any time. The sources stated that these troops could play various roles, including assisting in the evacuation of American citizens, but are also intended to create strategic ambiguity about American intentions. When asked about The Wall Street Journal’s report regarding the potential deployment of an additional 10,000 soldiers to the region, White House spokesperson Anna Kelly stated that all such information would be released by the Pentagon, and that Trump “always has all military options on the table.”
