Recently, a female teacher at the junior high school section of Nanjing Huiwen Middle School made derogatory comments about students in class, saying, “If I were your homeroom teacher, I would torture you to death.”

On March 24, the Education Bureau of Gulou District in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, released a situation report, which is as follows:

Recently, it has been reported online that a teacher at a certain junior high school in our district made extreme remarks towards students in class, raising issues of teacher ethics violations. Our bureau immediately established a working group to conduct an investigation. Currently, the teacher involved has been suspended.

Our bureau will deeply learn from this lesson, maintain a “zero tolerance” policy towards teacher ethics violations, and strictly handle the situation according to regulations and laws, while also taking this as a warning to further strengthen the construction of teacher ethics and conduct.
