People’s Finance and News, March 25—According to the Italian “Corriere della Sera” report on March 25, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, said that the United States and Iran may hold talks this weekend in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. In an exclusive interview with the “Corriere della Sera,” Grossi said the issues to be addressed in the talks would include not only nuclear energy, but also missiles and Iran’s security guarantees, among other matters. Grossi noted that the United States is asking Iran to achieve “zero uranium enrichment,” while Iran is focusing on issues such as its civilian nuclear program and nuclear self-reliance. In his view, the United States and Iran can reach consensus on these issues. He also said that Iran’s nuclear facilities were damaged in U.S.-and-Israeli military strikes, “but not decisively.” Regarding viable options for resolving the current fighting, Grossi said the first step is to achieve peace: “military action is not a way to solve problems.” (Xinhua News Agency)
