【Caixin】 At the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2026, Hu Zuliu, founder and chairman of Chuanghua Capital Group, stated that discussions regarding IPOs in China’s capital market are vigorous, while M&A transactions are very inactive and often overlooked. He suggested ways to enhance M&A transaction activity to promote a more robust capital market.

On March 27, Hu Zuliu shared this perspective during a discussion themed “Creating a Good Market Environment and Advocating Long-term Value Investment.” He specifically mentioned that the current significant challenges facing China’s economy include so-called “involution” and overcapacity. In fact, a very effective way to digest excess capacity is through mergers and acquisitions, as a very active M&A market can facilitate industry consolidation.
