Senegal’s Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko stated that a gas contract for the BP-operated Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project was found to be unfair after a review of strategic contracts. This announcement was part of a broader address on the outcome of contract reviews across various sectors initiated by his government since 2024. Sonko also mentioned that the oil and gas sector is still under review, with ongoing discussions aimed at ensuring gas supply, and he promised to publish a document detailing the contracts being studied.
