People’s Financial News, March 5 — On March 5, Shen Danyang, head of the drafting team for the Government Work Report and director of the General Office of the State Council, stated at a briefing by the State Information Office that the Government Work Report focuses on improving educational equity and quality, with arrangements made for all educational stages and types. For example, regarding preschool education, this year will continue to implement the policy of free education for the first year of preschool, commonly known as free enrollment for large classes in kindergartens. The revenue loss from kindergartens will be compensated by central and local government finances, with the central government bearing the majority of the cost. This year, funding support for preschool education development has increased significantly by 37.8%.
