On March 19, the three major A-share indices all closed lower, with the total trading volume exceeding 2 trillion yuan. Most sectors pulled back, while a few, such as coal chemical and oil & gas, rose against the trend. Hong Kong stocks came under pressure, with large tech stocks leading the declines.

By the close, the CSI A500 Index fell by 2.0%, the CSI 300 Index dropped 1.6%, the ChiNext Index declined 1.1%, the STAR Market 50 Index decreased by 2.4%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index was down 1.6%.
