People’s Financial News, March 24 — On March 24, Ning Jizhe, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, met with Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics Korea. The two sides exchanged views on China’s macroeconomic situation, the “14th Five-Year Plan” Outline, China’s further expansion of high-level opening-up, and Samsung’s business development in China. Ning Jizhe stated that China will continue to expand high-level opening-up, improve the business environment, fully protect the national treatment of foreign-invested enterprises, and create a transparent rule environment with equal opportunities for foreign companies, sharing development dividends with countries around the world. The NDRC welcomes Samsung to seize the opportunities brought by China’s ongoing expansion of opening-up, strengthen confidence and determination to develop in China, further expand investment and cooperation, actively maintain the stability of the global semiconductor supply chain, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Lee Jae-yong expressed gratitude for the support provided by the National Development and Reform Commission for Samsung’s operations in China. China is an important part of Samsung’s global strategy. Samsung is optimistic about the new opportunities brought by China’s high-quality development and looks forward to deepening cooperation further.
